To me this is what September is all about; the last of the summer dresses, blackberry picking in gumboots, mixing cozy sweaters with perfectly worn in shorts, wine on the beach, delicious stone fruits from farmers markets, meals with friends and split back top (I've been obsessive over those.)

Beach Bum
While there may not be much need for these lovely chunky knits on the Hawaiian beaches I've been hanging out on lately, I still fell in love with this Zippora Seven for Elle France September Issue editorial. New things on my want list, yellow knit bikini, knit leotard, super oversized pink knit sweater.

Salt Air and Red Stares
For some reason red is a color I have never been drawn too. I've always thought it doesn't look that great on me and because of that I really have no red in my wardrobe. However, this editorial of Adeline Jouan for SnC's September issue has me thinking that I have it all wrong. The bright all red outfits look nothing short of stunning when played against the blues and greys of the beach. I think it is time for me to invest in some red items and go frolic around in the sand.

DIY Inspiration: Statement Shoulders
I saw this photo on Pinterest the other day and have not been able to stop thinking about it. Growing up in a cold climate has made me a huge fan and collector of chunky knit sweaters because I can actually wear them year round. I love how the statement shoulders on this sweater could easily be achieved with a simple sweater, some yarn that matches, and an embroidery needle and you would get a completely unique and interesting look. I can't wait to make this!
