Lusting Lately - The Perfect Turtleneck

I honestly don't think I have ever worn a turtleneck in my life. However, I can't stop daydreaming about the perfect cropped turtleneck tank top! I have been searching endlessly in thrift stores for a turtleneck that I can DIY into my dream top and I have been coming up empty handed. Sure, I find turtlenecks, lots and lots of turtlenecks, but they are always worn out and cut awkwardly. So here is my dilemma, do I keep searching or do I cough up the money and buy the one in the second photo from threadsense?

DIY Inspiration: Unique Button Up

I love when a simple DIY can take a common item of clothing and make it a stand out piece. The unique hemline on this shirt makes it so unique and fresh and it would be such a simple DIY to do! I am completely falling head over heels for the crop top trend going on right now but the fact that this shirt is cropped in the back vs. the front means I don't have do nearly as many sit ups before I am comfortable to wear it.

If you are in need of some high waisted shorts to go with your button up make sure you check out our store!

NYFW

The current lack of internet at my house has prevented me from my usual obsessing over every show at NYFW. However, I did manage catch Proenza Schouler's new collection and it absolutely blew my mind. Embroidered on chain mail? Oh the things this makes me want to do! Chain mail details on shorts? Shirts? Jackets? Dresses? Screw studding things, this is my new obsession.

Cool Kat

A few of my favourite things this week; Faded striped denim, Sequins to the ground, Leopard and denim, Skeletor up in arms and a dreamy updo.

Ive been completely obsesed with Sincerely, Jules and her effortlessly edgy style as of late (photos One and Six.)  I love that she always looks feminine yet rarely will you see her in frills and florals. What I would do to get in that girls closet!

DIY: Coin Magnets

We all buy souvenirs when traveling but it is also nearly impossible to not come home with a pocket full of change that just sits in a jar or drawer. So, after too many hours browsing on Pinterest I found a great solution to the problem. Turn all those coins into magnets! Not only is this a great way to display all your world travels but it is also the easiest DIY ever.

What You Need
A pocket full of change
Small magnets (I found ones that even had adhesive already on them)

What To Do
1. After you have picked out what change you want to display simply glue the magnet on to the center of the back of each coin, press in place and you are done! DIY really can't get easier than this!

Cara

I'm not even going to attempt to deny it, I have a total girl crush on Cara Delevingne. How could you not? She looks stunning in this Vogue Spain editorial.

DIY Inspiration: Fringed Kimono

I'm not one to typically own fringed things or kimonos. They are the type of things that I see and love on other people but every time I try them on myself I just don't feel right. However, I feel like I could make an exception when it comes to this lovely fringed kimono. The best part is this would be so easy to make! I find old silk floral bathrobes at thrift stores all the time. Simple crop one and sew fringe to the bottom and sleeves. I honestly can't wait to make this.

Memories of Rodarte

Perhaps it is because they retreat into the woods of one of my favorite places on Earth (Big Sur, CA) to find inspiration, or because they have found a way to make clothes only imagined in fairy tales wearable, or because there always seems to be a heavy emphasis on craft inspired details. Whatever it is, I am obsessed with Rodarte. To me their clothes are absolute perfection and if I was going to be stuck wearing only one label for the rest of my life there is no doubt in my mind that Rodarte would be what I choose. So obviously I love  this editorial in Grey Magazine featuring past collections from the Rodarte sisters.

Beach Bum

While there may not be much need for these lovely chunky knits on the Hawaiian beaches I've been hanging out on lately, I still fell in love with this Zippora Seven for Elle France September Issue editorial. New things on my want list, yellow knit bikini, knit leotard, super oversized pink knit sweater.
