Lusting Lately - The Perfect Turtleneck

I honestly don't think I have ever worn a turtleneck in my life. However, I can't stop daydreaming about the perfect cropped turtleneck tank top! I have been searching endlessly in thrift stores for a turtleneck that I can DIY into my dream top and I have been coming up empty handed. Sure, I find turtlenecks, lots and lots of turtlenecks, but they are always worn out and cut awkwardly. So here is my dilemma, do I keep searching or do I cough up the money and buy the one in the second photo from threadsense?

NYFW

The current lack of internet at my house has prevented me from my usual obsessing over every show at NYFW. However, I did manage catch Proenza Schouler's new collection and it absolutely blew my mind. Embroidered on chain mail? Oh the things this makes me want to do! Chain mail details on shorts? Shirts? Jackets? Dresses? Screw studding things, this is my new obsession.

Cool Kat

A few of my favourite things this week; Faded striped denim, Sequins to the ground, Leopard and denim, Skeletor up in arms and a dreamy updo.

Ive been completely obsesed with Sincerely, Jules and her effortlessly edgy style as of late (photos One and Six.)  I love that she always looks feminine yet rarely will you see her in frills and florals. What I would do to get in that girls closet!

DIY Inspiration: Fringed Kimono

I'm not one to typically own fringed things or kimonos. They are the type of things that I see and love on other people but every time I try them on myself I just don't feel right. However, I feel like I could make an exception when it comes to this lovely fringed kimono. The best part is this would be so easy to make! I find old silk floral bathrobes at thrift stores all the time. Simple crop one and sew fringe to the bottom and sleeves. I honestly can't wait to make this.

Shakin' All Over

You know that old question you have been asked since elementary school about what era you would choose to live in if you could? Well, if I was to base my answer on fashion and what style I always seem to gravitate to, I would have to go with the 50's and early 60's and this amazingly styled editorial from Marie Claire Hungary only helps cement that decision. I literally want to own every single item in these photos. Can we talk about how amazing the lime green socks look with the purple skirt in the first photo?

Into the Mystic

I'm not even sure if it is possible for me to name all the reasons why I am obsessed with this editorial of Klara Gro by Cristina Capucci for Urban Magazine. The flowing red hair, the amazing styling, the beautiful spring time scenery, and best of all there are so many DIY inspirations. How are amazing are those headbands? Once I practice my knot tying those are going on my DIY list, along with the patterned boots, embellished skirt, and fringe shawl.

Come Together

I love when two great companies come together to do a collaboration, especially when it turns out as great as this collection from Opening Ceremony and Keds. I think perhaps my favorite part is how well each companies aesthetics complemented the other when put together into a single collection. Pretty sure I am going to have to figure out a DIY for that scalloped skirt.

Desperate Housewife

I wish I could look this smoking hot while cooking and pretending to be domesticated. These photos of Zuzana Kopukova by Robert Orlandi for Grazia Italy add a whole new twist on the idea of housewife and while it is fun to imagine cooking in fabulous designer clothes it would be a truly horrible idea in real actuality.   I don't even want to think about how I would react if I got marinara sauce on a Louis Vuitton dress, not that I own one....

Cinco De Mayo

Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone! I thought I would post some inspiration for this lovely holiday from Grazia Germany. I hope everyone gets to sit back and sip some margaritas and enjoy the day.

Something Else

If I had to choose one brand and one brand only to live and breath in, day in and day out, it would be Something Else by Natalie Wood.  Its super stylish yet incredible wearable and filled with DIY inspiration.  Something else is the edgier, more mature and luxurious brain child of Australian designer Natalie Wood.

Images from Something Else's Autumn/Winter 2012, Summer 2011, and Spring 2011 collections.  Check out the rest of the line (Here)  And more of Natatie Wood's work as creative director of the Australian surf skate brand Insight.
